The most common questions we hear, grouped by topic — from whitening sensitivity to how the travel fee works.
You'll get the best results if your front teeth — the ones that show when you smile — have no restorations (fillings, crowns, veneers), since restorative material doesn't change shade. Hold off on booking a whitening appointment if you're currently doing Invisalign treatment.
No — restorative materials like fillings, crowns and veneers don't change shade with whitening. If you have visible restorations on your front teeth, they won't match the rest of your teeth once whitened. Ask us at your appointment if you're not sure what to expect for your smile.
We use POLA Office+, which doesn't often cause tooth sensitivity. As a general rule of thumb, use an anti-sensitivity toothpaste for at least 1 week before your appointment, and for up to 2 weeks afterward, to minimize any discomfort.
Whitening takes about 45–60 minutes. You can book it as a stand-alone appointment or add it to your hygiene appointment. The cost is $359, not including the travel fee. Dental insurance plans typically don't cover the cost of whitening.
Whitening isn't permanent, and plenty of things can cause new discolouration — your dental hygiene routine, diet (coffee, wine, certain foods), and smoking all play a role. Results vary from person to person, but most clients book a touch-up appointment in about a year.
Most cleanings cost $200–$350, depending on treatment time. Your first appointment often runs a bit longer since it includes a full set of gum measurements — this gives us a baseline for future visits.
Absolutely — we're happy to bill your insurance on your behalf. As a small and growing company, we kindly ask that you pay at the time of your treatment; based on your provider, coverage will vary. Whitening is typically not covered by insurance plans.
Teeth cleaning and polishing, a dental hygiene exam and oral health assessment, fluoride application, oral health instruction, and a referral to a trusted dentist or specialist if you need one.
Yes — whitening pairs well right after a cleaning in the same visit. Just select both when you book, or ask us to add it on.
Nope! Our licensed dental hygienists are qualified to provide dental hygiene services without an on-site dentist. If we notice anything that needs a closer look, we're happy to refer you to a trusted dentist or dental professional who can help.
Yes — this is one of the things we hear about most from patients. Our mobile clinic is a private, one-on-one setting with no waiting room, no unfamiliar front desk, and no sensory overload, which makes a real difference for neurodivergent patients and people with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Parents and caregivers regularly tell us it's the calmest dental experience their family has had — you're welcome to ask us about your specific needs before booking.
That's fantastic! We're here to help you maintain your teeth in between dental exams — we recommend seeing your dentist for an exam every 12 to 24 months. We're happy to share your files with your dentist after each treatment so everyone stays on the same page, and if we notice anything that needs further attention, we'll let your dentist know right away.
Nope, not necessarily! Most insurance plans allow for a dental exam, x-rays, polish and fluoride every 6, 9, or 12 months, but the number of cleanings you can have is totally different — it depends on the units of scaling and root-planing your plan offers. You may be able to get your teeth cleaned more frequently than you think. All you have to do is call your insurance provider and ask.
Yes, we do accept these coverages. However, they don't cover the full cost of treatment, so you'll need to cover the remaining balance.
We charge a $21.83 fee if your appointment location is within a 20-minute drive of our HQ in Vic West. If you're farther than 20 minutes, the fee is $31.83. This appears as a flat-rate fee added to your bill. This small charge helps us accommodate the rising costs of fuel, labor and supplies — it allows us to keep operating, serving you well, and maintaining our mobile clinic. Farther than 30 minutes, the fee is set case by case (for example, it's currently $60 for Shawnigan Lake).
No problem — you're more than welcome to come to our HQ in Vic West for your appointment instead.
